Tooth Whitening has never been better.  Thanks to Dr. Nix's POWER BLEACHING Technique we can now whiten teeth up to 10 shades whiter on just about everone!

The old take-home tray system or in-office whitening, just didn't work very well. Over 50% of patients treated by dentists with these two techniques did NOT whiten at all! And most of the patients who did whiten initially, had to continually re-whiten their teeth over and over! In fact, you were better off buying the over-the-counter retail whitening systems at the pharmacies and discount stores.

Dr. Nix and a few other dentists around the country are now using a whitening technique that works on over 95% of our patients and in most cases need very little touch-up! Yes, there are a handful of people who will not whiten like we want but all the others have had fabulous results.

Dr. Nix calls his whitening system POWER BLEACHING. This innovative tecnhnique utilizes both in-office light whitening and the take-home custom whitening appliance. The process takes three appointments over a two week period.

• Appointment one: Whitening examination and mouth impressions.
• Appointment two: In-office 45 minute "enamel conditioning" with our Sapphire Plasma-Arc(PAC) Light. You will then be fitted for custom take-home whitening appliances which you will use at night for two weeks.
• Appointment three: In-office one hour whitening with the Rembrandt Sapphire PAC Light.

Some patients will have to touch-up their whitening every few months or so by rewearing their take-home applainces for a couple of nights.

The Key to Power Bleaching?

What are the take-home appliances?

The take-home Power Bleach appliances are custom made intraoral trays that are fabricated by a special laboratory in California. These appliances are very different than most of the bleach trays made inside dental offices today. One of the most vital steps to the Power Bleaching System is to have the take-home whitening solution STAY close to the teeth so it can do its work! These custom laboratory fabricated appliances ensure the close fit of bleach to tooth, without letting all the solution leak out after a few minutes. This leaking of the whitening solution is what severly diminished the ability to whiten for so many years.  

Reasons for tooth whitening:

• Fluorosis (excessive fluoridation during tooth development).
• Normal wear of outer tooth layer.
• Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
• Yellow, brown stained teeth.
